1. Registration and Check-In
CELS, a program provider for Elderhostel registration is between 4:00 - 5:00 and a wine social & introductions at 5:15pm on the first day of the program, read the announcement board in the lobby for location. Check at the hotel desk after 3:30 to see if your room is ready. At CELS registration you will be given a CELS packet with the week's schedule, participation list, special events and a smile. Dinner is at 6:00 PM with orientation following dinner. Please bring your CELS packet, reading glasses and pen/pencil to dinner.

3. Telephones

4. Lodging
This is a non-smoking, newly renovated resort. Each room has a TV, phone, data port, hair dryer, iron/board, refrigerator, 2 queen beds or a king upon request. The resort offers an Olympic size heated outdoor pool and 7 therapy pools, gift shop, 2 restaurants, lounge, full service massage spa, dry sauna and laundry facilities. Rooms are cleaned on Tuesdays & Thursdays and beds are made daily & towels are replaced as needed. Please let us know if you will be traveling with others so we can try to put you near one another. This, of course, is subject to availability of rooms. There are handicap accessible rooms, request them early on your All Programs Document you return. If your program starts on Sunday and you plan on arriving early, be sure to take advantage of their fabulous Sunday Brunch served from 9am-1pm.

6. Requesting a Roommate
When there are participants requesting a roommate, each two people (of the same sex) will be assigned to one room (having two beds). Important: If you originally requested to be assigned a roommate, and then change to request a Single room on your All Programs Document (which you send to us), you must contact Elderhostel Boston to arrange for payment of the single room supplement.
7. Early arrivals and late departures
Miracle Springs Resort & Spa offers early arrivals and late departures. Call the resort directly to make these reservations at 1-800-400-4414. We cannot make these reservations for you. Be sure to identify yourself as an Elderhostel participant.

8. Transportation
Transportation to the site is the responsibility of the Elderhostel participant.. If you are in need of transportation from LAX (125mi) or Ontario (70mi) you can call Express Shuttle at (800) 427-7483. For Palm Springs Airport (12mi), call Airport Taxi at (760)862-9000. You need to make reservations at least three (3) days in advance and verify times and prices. We recommend renting a car to maximize your enjoyment of optional activities during free time.

*It is Elderhostel policy for the participants not to drive their vehicle to any CELS program activities once the program has started. There will be a place on the forms you return to CELS for you to initial and release CELS if you would prefer to drive yourself.

9. Clothing and Equipment
Comfort is the keynote for all activities. Check with www.weather.com for current conditions. Casual clothing, layered for changes of temperature. Bring your bathing suit for the water exercises and also to take advantage of the hot therapeutic mineral water pools. Sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, flashlight, binoculars are recommended.
10. Health, Information & Release Forms
Returning the All Programs Document found on this website does not enroll you in any of our programs! Please do not send this form unless you have confirmation from Elderhostel Headquarters in Boston of your enrollment. Once you are enrolled, please print and fill out the All Programs Document completely (4 pages) and return to CELS right away. MOST IMPORTANT, we need this information for nametags, hotel and room assignments and transportation requirements, which are done weeks before a program.

11. Directions to Miracle Springs Resort
From LA: Take Interstate 10 east until you get to Palm Drive/Gene Autry Drive. You will turn left/north onto Palm Drive. Follow Palm Drive about 6 miles. The resort will be on the left hand side right after the 4 way stop at 8th.

From San Diego: Take Interstate 15 north out of San Diego. Take Interstate 215 north to Interstate 10 and go east. Turn left on Palm Drive/Gene Autry Drive. You will turn left/north onto Palm Drive. Follow Palm Drive about 6 miles. The resort will be on the left hand side right after the 4 way stop at 8th.

13. Important miscellaneous information
Please help Elderhostel and your fellow participants. If you must cancel your enrollment, please give us as much time as possible to notify people who might be on the wait list and need to arrive from another state. Call the Boston Elderhostel office promptly, and if it is less than a weeks notice, also call us at (760) 776-8874. On the day of the program call the resort 760-325-1301 and leave a message for the CELS Coordinators so they don’t keep waiting for you. Our office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

14. Film Festival Registration and Check In
Located in the heart of Palm Springs. CELS, a program provider for Elderhostel registration is between 4:00 - 5:00 on the first day of the program. Read the announcement board in the lobby for location. Hotel check-in is not until 4:00PM. If you arrive early, stroll the hotel in and out to get acquainted with the offerings. There will be introductions and a wine social at 5:15Pm on the first day of the program. At registration you will be given a CELS packet with the week's schedule, participation list, special events and a smile. Dinner is scheduled for 6:00 PM with orientation following dinner, check the white board for current information. Please bring your CELS packet, reading glasses and pen/pencil to Orientation. Please give family/friends and house sitters the hotel number to reach you in case of an emergency.

12 miles to the theater and downtown Palm Springs. This is a newly refurbished non-smoking resort. Each room has a TV, phone, data port, hair dryer, iron/board, refrigerator, 2 queen beds or a king upon request. The resort offers an extra large heated outdoor pool, 7 therapy pools, gift shop, 2 restaurants, lounge, full service massage spa, dry sauna and laundry facilities. Rooms are cleaned on Tuesdays & Thursday’s and beds are made daily & towels are replaced. Please let us know if you will be traveling with others so we can try to put you near one another. Meals
Lunches will be at the theater: Catered again this year by our local Aspen Mills Bread Company. Each day your taste buds will experience different homemade breads. This company uses only natural foods, no artificial additives, flavors, processed sugar, dairy products, fats or oils. The wheat bread is stone ground daily with natural wheat. Breads are sweetened with 100% natural honey - for our health conscious participants.

Film Festival Forms
Returning the Film Festival Only Forms found on this website does not enroll you in any of our programs! Clothing
Comfort is the keynote for all activities. Check with www.weather.com for current conditions. Casual clothing, layered for changes of temperature. The auditorium is sometimes cool, so remember to bring a light sweater or jacket. Remember for those trying to break the record of 24 films viewed during the week, bring eye drops and also a water bottle. If you prefer to drive (sign the transportation waiver at registration) you might want to bring along a folding chair or a blanket to sit on at lunch outside the high school auditorium where we have our private showings. If you prefer, you can eat inside.

Miscellaneous
Palm Springs Follies – If you are interested in the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies this year, call them directly for reservations at (760) 327-0225. This is not included in the tuition.Mention that you are a CELS/Elderhostel guest and you will receive a discount! You will have Wednesday night open to see the Follies from 7:00 – 9:30PM. www.psfollies.com

Thursday Night - You will have Thursday Night open to go to the Village Fest in downtown Palm Springs from 6-10PM. Also on Thursday the Palm Springs Art Museum is free from 4 – 8 PM.

Travel on public transportation may be required at times during our program.
